Ever need to de-escalate someone? Help them through an immediate crisis? Talk with someone about suicidal ideation and how to get help? These are our downloadable Crisis Intervention Guidelines, based on Frontline staff's experiences working on crisis lines and intervening in suicide attempts and other emergencies, with key information from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, Lines for Life, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and other great agencies. Downloadable & printable.

The guidelines aren't meant as a substitute for therapy, but they are meant for nearly everyone of any skill level who wants to understand the basics of how to diminish the pain and anxiety of someone in crisis until that person can get more advanced help. If you're coming upon these guidelines because you're in crisis, if you're thinking of self harm, or harming others, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
